Popular material for bonsai - a beech in informal upright style.

All our beeches are the European Beech, Fagus sylvatica. It has a dull grey bark, not as striking as the Japanese Beech, but can still make a handsome bonsai. The beech is not strictly native to Britain but grows just about everwhere. Seedlings and old hedging material are good sources for bonsai.
